Delusions?
Aside from that, the other delusion is that it's okay to push products and services on your friends and family as a way to "break in". I'd be bitter if I bought something similar from a family member under pressure, so likewise I'd have the consideration to not do so to my own loved ones.
But, as the old saying says, there's a sucker born every minute.

I don't know about other MLM companies, but the one I am a part of, there is no "need" to do any recruiting. It is a matter if the person "wants" to do recruiting. If a person wants to just keep their regular secure job and benefits, sell the products on the side to their family and friends, enjoy some extra money and earn countless tax deductions then that is their choice. The company I am a part of us has over 140,000 members. Some are very active, some are sem-active and some not at all. Again, it is a personal choice. Last month the company expanded into Bermuda with expansion taking place this month in Canada and the Bahamas. People can complain all they want but network marketing is not going away. MLM is either something a person sees or they don't. It is not for everyone and that is ok.
Yup, that is the sound you hear when you ask MLMers a business concept question. You won't get an answer to your question, because not only do none of them consider this concept, they are not even interested.
You are just saying something negative, and negativity is taught to be ignored in MLM. An MLMer can lose their house, break up their marriage, and be forced to live in their car as a result of failing in MLM, but in MLM they are taught to ignore all these negative details else they will be labeled as a quitter.
It is because:
a) innocent new members do not know / think about market saturation. Their mind is occupied by the things that MLM lets them see (brainwashing).
b) old members have sacrificed too much in it that they cannot just quit. So they continue to proclaim it disregarding the market saturation.
c) the kingpin does not care about the market saturation in future as long as money flows into his pocket NOW.
